If you have been displaying Google AdSense on your website for any length of time you know that your daily
income is variable. You have good earning days and not so good earning days. The biggest issue is consistency. You
have the tools to make a change, already at your disposal. Here they are:
Google Analytics®: The best deal on the Internet, because it's free and it's
better than anything else that you would pay for. All you need to do is open a free AdWords® account and then open
the Analytics tab and sign up for your free account. You will get a piece of code just add it to the end of each
page you want to have stats on. If you are an owner of XSitePro is even easier. Just open the "other" tab and click
on Global Scripts and add the code to the section "immediately before the closing
tag." It's that easy and you
will add it to every page in your site all at once. Once you have added the code you will see where your site
visitors are going and what they are looking for. You can then tailor your content to the most viewed pages. In the
long run your AdSense earnings will grow.
AdSense® Placement: Where you place your AdSense ads and the size of the ads is
driven by your site. Although Google offers a "heat map" of the best positioning they point out that it's based on
an average view, your website could be different. The main message here is that it's important to test different
strategies to find the best size and placement.
Ad Color: This is something that a lot of Adsense publishers overlook. Blending
AdSense ads into your site can be as important as placement. So once again test different colors. Again if you own
Xsite Pro this is a very simple change.
AdSense for Search: It doesn't cost anything to put this on your site but it can
be a powerful income generator for you. Google has made some changes recently and beefed up the search function.
I've seen as much as a 100% increase in daily revenue.
Utilize all of the AdSense Tools: AdSense offers other ways to
increase your revenue such as AdSense for Feeds if you generate any RSS feeds from your site, and AdSense for
Mobile if you are creating a .mobi version of your site. And by the way version 2 of XsitePro converts a standard
site to a mobile site as well.
It's also important to note that displaying AdSense on your site without any consideration to your content is
worthless. You should always consider your content, as well as keywords, in placing your AdSense Ads. Be sure to
use your keywords in the upper third of your content to get the best results.
By the way please see our post on "Google Scam Artists" before you spend a penny on any AdSense related
products.
